Following his graduation, Dr. Vajda obtained his Ph.D degree in the field of brain water homeostasis and brain edema pathogenesis at the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Pécs. Between 1999 and 2001 he was a fellow researcher at the Department of Cell Biology and the MR Research Centre at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. He served his radiology residency and fellowship at the Pest County Hospital, Budapest and the Health Center of the University of Kaposvár. Thereafter he was a neurointerventional fellow at the National Institute of Neurosciences, Budapest and at the Clinic of Neuroradiology, Klinikum Stuttgart, Germany, where he was a consultant neurointerventionalist between 2010 and 2012. He is the executive vice-president of the Health Center of the University of Kaposvár since 2012.
